Targus USB Hub
A nice very reliable, ompact 4 port hub - it has a detachable USB A - B connector so you can easily extend the distance between your PC and the hub by buying a longer cable. It worked straight out of the box - plugged in my Win2000 PC and the USB Hub driver loaded automatically - I connected a USB WebCam, Camera and USB TV Device all worked fine with no problem at all. It also has the option of being a Powered hub but the PSU isnt included but most USB devices wont need the additional Power I imagine. One point though the rather fetching Blue kind of neon lights above each port remain on continusly whether the port has a device in or not (although the USB Ports not in use are just a little bit dimmer) so it doesnt really serve to tell the status of the port just whether or not the whole hub is operational.

Overall though Id recommend it - Worth spending a little bit more for this quality.

Targus Ultra Mini 4 Port USB Hub
I had been looking for some time for a USB Hub and had considered the type that fits in a floppy drive bay but the only one I had seen had been the wrong colour! The Targus 4 port hub was the only one I had seen that had a long cable attached. I have just plugged it into one of the spare sockets at the rear and led the cable up to the top. I have fixed the hub to the PC case using stick on velcro and it works a treat(and stays put). The blue glowing lights are quite smart and an extra indication that the system is still live at the socket even though the PC is switched off. I now use a memory stick and the camera and it treats both as external drives. I can move files from the camera to the memory stick without loading them onto the hard drive. It saves a lot of digging about at the rear of the PC and it looks very contemporary. Incidently, the allocation of drive letters ie: H: is based on the order you plug the devices in and not just from left to right. A really useful addition to my set up

mini hub
just plug it in and off you go,i have a card reader and scanner plugged to it,with no problem.
it is compact and looks good
